My Friday print column is up.

Food for thought for those of you out there who want to look at a system that gives coverage to all, but keeps a free market system. Considering this comes from a right wing mag (Forbes) most of you who comment on Gil's work should be ok with it.

When there's truly a nation-wide free market for health insurance -- when we can buy a policy from a lizard on TV -- then IBX will join the Pennsylvania Railroad in the trash can of Philadelphia-based monopolies.
Hilferty understands this, which is why he won't criticize ObamaCare; he won't criticize the HHS Mandate; he won't criticize the trial bar as a cause for defensive medicine.
In short, Hilferty knows which side of the bread is buttered -- and dear Delco reader, it's not your side.

Mike- thanks for the link. Very interesting. Makes you wonder why corporate America doesn't get behind such a plan. Wouldn't it releive them of the burden of providing health insurance for their employees?

Two things stand out in Gils column. 1. This guy makes 2 million a year? Amazing!
2. He cites Crozer Keystone as a positive example? I've had several stays at Chester Crozer. They were horrible. I was misdiagnosed, there was a shortage of nurses, comfort level sucked, and an important test was ordered but never performed. I've also had several stays at Riddle since they became part of Mainline Health. They were amazing. If Mr. Hilferty thinks Crozer's example is the way to go, he's certainly not worth 2 million a year.
