MSNBC Employs a Mormon-Hating Bigot

As promised, Bob "The Daily Howler" Somberby examines MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell's nauseating anti-Mormon bigotry and the dishonest way he's using it to discredit Mitt Romney.
Lawrence O’Donnell is a real piece of work.
Last night, he did a segment on the killing of Trayvon Martin. His basic misstatements were legion.
This will never stop.
But at least he stopped playing the Mormon card on last evening’s Last Word. On Monday and Tuesday nights, O’Donnell had toyed with this card, diddling himself as he did and showing the soul of the bigot.
Read it all.

How hateful is the extreme left when they allow people like this loser to spout lies and loser story lines?

Danny - No more hateful than the right. Limbaugh, Hannity and Beck have been doing it for years.

Gil - I think this reply to Bob's column say's it pretty well, so I'll let it speak for me

"What O'Donnell said about Mormonism made me cringe.

But what he said about Romney launching a "swiftboat" attack to paint Obama as a "secularist" (code word to the right for "Atheist") out to conduct a "war on religion" (Romney's words), and thus turning religion or lack thereof into Obama's problem instead of Romney's, well, that was pretty good.

And you know, Bob? Been working that way with pundits since time began. They can make you cringe and think at the same time.

And you know something else, Bob? People are generally smart enough to do both."

Let's get this truly understood.

Limbaugh,(No TV Show) Hannity, Beck (Internet Video Only)have millions of followers. So what they say that can be considered volatile get's more press, especially from the lame stream media.

Maddow, O'Donnel, Mathews and their druthers have 50 to 70% less following of people listening or watching their TV shows yet they seem to get equal time, maybe more by the Media. How does that work??

Danny - Im not quite sure what you're talking about. Beck had a TV show for years. Hannity is still on FOX as far as I know. But what's funny about this is that what O'Donnell says doesn't really matter. Most of his listeners are Dems and Liberals, and they could care less about Romney's religion. They arent going to vote for him anyway. Romney's real problem is going to be with Christians in his own party who think of Mormonism as a cult rather than a Christian Religion.
I view O'Donnell's rant with nothing more than a casual curiosity. I view Romney as a pretty decent person with a fairly liberal record. This won't change my opinion and it won't make me think any less of Romney.

Bob, Beck has been off Fox for almost a year. April 24th will be a year. His new show is available on the Internet only as I stated. Limbaugh is not on TV. Only Hannity is on Fox.

Even though these 3 conservatives have 75% more audience, the O'Donnells, Shultz's and Madcows, er Maddows get more than their fair share of the Lame Stream press!

The country is more conservative, and your are right, O'Donnell is a louse with a huge bigoted bone!

FYI - Bob was a college roommate of Al Gore and Tommy Lee Jones. Caught his comedy act years ago. Funny guy.

Jake - I don't think it's nice of you to insinuate that about Danny. Personally I think Danny is straight.

He mentions the rule of Mormonism from the 1800's and relates that to present day. People have to remember that Democrat Harry Reid is also a Mormon.

If we were to all conform to the ways of the 1800s, there would be many modern acceptances in varied religions that we could pick apart.

Maybe lie is a little tough, deception might be better.
Either way, Lawrence O'Donnell is a bigot of front page coverage.
