Over fifty million deaths at the hands of man. These deaths in America are not at the hands of a dictator but by a so-called civilized society that has some how come to the conclusion that man has the right to take innocent life while arguing over wether a murder should be put to death. The completely innocent are killed in a cruel and unusal manner without trial and have no chance of escaping there horrible fate. It's not God bless America any more but instead God help America.
I'd prefer my tax dollars going to abortions than wars which kill living, breathing, thinking beings capable of suffering.
Embryos don't suffer. They don't have minds or thoughts.
And it's women not men that making the decisions to have abortions.
Fortunately for the unborn, not ALL Democrats feel the same way.
Sadly, the supreme court decided that a woman and only a woman may kill her unborn child (a human being) for any reason. It is truly the legalization of murder and if one thinks about it is also discrimiatory, in that it grants to women and women only, the legal right to kill another human being through the false premise of privacy. I wouldn't place any bets on weather the death of these unborn babies are without pain.
Oh, fer gawd's sake, I pointed out to the WSJ yesterday that the tired GOP meme of Bob Casey's 1992 "banning" is complete and utter tripe. Must I also point it out to you, Spence?
There were no fewer than eight speakers at the 1992 convention who opposed abortion rights. Therefore, it cannot be the case that Casey was barred because of his stance on abortion.
That really shouldn't be difficult to understand, but those interested in additional details can find them here.
Here's the short version:
1) Casey wasn't "denied" a speaking spot; that suggests he was entitled to one. He wasn't; nobody is (save, I suppose, the nominees for president and vice president and the convention officers.)
2) There is scant evidence from contemporaneous reporting that anyone other than Bob Casey thought it would be a good idea for Bob Casey to speak at the convention.
3) Casey had not only refused to endorse Bill Clinton, he had actively suggested that the party should choose a different nominee at the convention.
4) It logically cannot be the case that Casey was denied a speaking slot because of his views on abortion, given that severals speakers shared his views.
5) Casey planned to use his convention speech -- the possiblity of which apparently existed only in his own fantasies -- for a single purpose: attacking the Democratic Party.
That's why Casey didn't speak at the 1992 convention: because nobody wanted him to, because he refused to endorse the party's nominee, and because he planned to devote his entire speech to attacking the Democratic party; the speech didn't include the words "Clinton" or "Gore" a single time.
Finally, those who insist on pointing to Casey's lack of a speaking role at the 1992 Democratic convention as evidence of the party's lack of inclusiveness are invited to produce an example of a Republican convention speaker who refused to endorse the nominee and spent his entire speach attacking the GOP's position on abortion without saying a single word in praise or support of the party's nominee.
They can't do it, because there is no such example.
1) It's not about privacy. It's about self-determination and control of their own bodies.
2) Would you bet that being born is painful? I'd bet it's more painful than the imaginary suffering of something the size of a grape.
3) How come none of you worries about the suffering of people that get the death penalty? (especially those times when later evidence shows they were innocent after all)
Anonymous#1 &2 I'm going to try one more time and hope that I can reach your conscience. I don't know if you are religious indivdual but from the Bible
and from the book of Proverbs, it states that there are six things the lord hates and the seventh His soul detest. number three on the list is, "Hands that shed innocent blood". It clear enough for anyone who believes in God, that God hates abortion. There is nothng more innocent than a baby and more so, one that is in the womb. The Pope also recently said, that abortion is the worst form of child abuse because once a child is dead, there is no hope. I intend to keep you in my prayers.
Does the Bible specifically mention abortion?
Those unborn are not considered alive. They haven't had the "breath of life", drawn their first breath, etc.
If God were really all-powerful and all-seeing, then he could stop this if he wanted. Therefore, the only logic conclusion for someone that believes in God, is that these abortions are part of Gods plan.
Maybe he knows which babies will grow up to be murders or terrorists and this is his way of stopping them.
If one is going to invoke God, the we can be certain these aborted embryos and fetuses have no souls. God wouldn't bother "installing" a soul into a creature that he knew was going to get aborted. If it mattered, He could also make sure they suffered no pain during the procedure.
So, either God likes abortions, doesn't care either way, or there is no God in the first place.
Meanwhile, don't bother praying to "God" for me. Zeus might get angry and send down lightning bolts.

Any believer knows that God has a plan for all of us and that he is an all knowing God. The proof that abortion is not in God's plan is your statement. If true, then why do we still have murderers and terrorists?

You missed the point that the women in these poor countries need more access to abortion.
The bigger point is there's no God. You are a fool to believe "He" is all knowing and that every good or bad thing that happens is really part of some good plan.
By your illogical thinking, 9/11 was a good thing and bin Laden was carrying out God's plan. Which, ironically, is the same claim that bin Laden made. Who knew that you and bin Laden were in such agreement?
If God existed and were all knowing about future events, and had a plan that was being enforced, there would be no free will. You would be no more than a wooden puppet on a string.
Anonymous: Boy! are you lost, take a look when you get a chance at a blade of grass. Do you honestly believe that it exists because of an explosion that happend millions of years ago? If so, then where then did the explosion come from and the materials that caused the explosion? I could go on but like I said, you most definitely need prayers to enlighen your way of thinking--you are truly lost.

We know that carbon, oxygen, iron, (and the rest of the elements that make up us and that blade of grass) are created from exploding stars. We've already determined that amino acids form naturally in space as well.
This has been going on for billions of years.
Life exists from the elements created by unliving stars through natural physical means.
Life on Earth evolved from simpler life forms into more complex ones. Again, by natural (not supernatural) processes.
Where did your magical "God" being come from? Intelligence? Knowledge? The ability to bend time and space and rearrange matter with mere thought? To read minds? Defy the laws of physics that cover everything from sub-atomic particles to black holes and clusters of galaxies?
All of these traits should have some source. Some origin.
Intelligent design is based upon the self-contradictory premise that complex life with thinking beings can't exist without an intelligent designer. Yet, who designed the designer?
And who designed that designer?
The TRUTH is that no external hand (magical or otherwise) is required to explain our existence by anything other than natural physical laws.

Anonymous: I suppose it comes down to faith, some are blessed with it and some are not. Those with it, do not see the end of life here on earth but a even better life in eternity. You believe that you go know further when you close your eyes for the last time---how sad. Your way of thinking, makes a life that has no meaning.
