The Indian Givers and Getters

Phil grab former Cy Young Award Winner Cliff Lee from the Indians for a song. The Blue Jays wanted a whole opera for Doc Halladay.

Nice move! The Phils get serious pitching help and manage to keep almost all of their top minor league prospects in the bargain. Sweet!

Trivia Question: Who is the best major league pitcher never to win the Cy Young Award?

UPDATE: Answer in the comments section.

As for Steve's question. "Where should we all meet for the parade in October?" That too is a trick question. Any parade to celebrate the winning of this year's World Series champion will be held in November.

I say not McFaddens.

gil - 2008's parade was held on a perfect Friday - 10/31/08 - halloween. The date would depend on the length of the series.

Actually Steve, unless they change the Series to best out of five, it won't.

Game 4 this year is scheduled for Nov. 1.

wow, look at you going above and beyond researching the series dates in order to respond to a blog comment! Well done.

I recommend the dirties bar in the City - McGlinchy's - inafmous for still having those bathroom towel boxes that rotate the towel (so you're wiping your hands with dirty poo towels). Dirty place, they their regulars will smoke there because McGlinchy's doesn't care.
