Obama Fiddles, Tehran Burns

Protesters in the streets, violence, authoritarianism and our ice-cream eating President: The music video.

Of course, its not really fair but that didn't stop the left from composing similar unflattering ditties about his predecessor.

It's about time Obama spoke out forcefully against the mullah's crack-down and on behalf of Iran's democratic movement.

Neither leadership nor Christian principles. Obama is both a leader and a Christian as a leader he has hard choices to make and as a Christian he should understand right from wrong. Jesus Christ talked about making decisions in this way, Choose right or wrong but do not be neutral, fore being neutral is the same as drinking luke-warm water it causes one to throw up. Obviously I am not quoting from the Bible but the statement it's self is correct in it's nature. Show some gumption, Mr. President this is why you were elected in the first place.

Freedom is being squashed in the streets of Tehran... and Obama is too busy to care.
It's more important to grovel to his liberal supporters with a Rose Garden ceremony celebrating more intrusive anti-smoking legislation.
The country is in the best of hands.

Im sorry but I just can't resist this one. What if Abraham Lincoln remained silent about salvery, where would we be today? It is easy to stand on the side lines.

The GOP concern trolls are a bit tough to stomach at this point. The same people that are irresponsibly criticizing Obama on Iran are the neocons who advocated bombing Persia back into the stone ages months ago. I wrote about it here: http://brokencoccyx.blogspot.com/2009/06/gop-concern-trolls.html.

And that was before George Will stated that the GOP opposition to Obama's approach is patently absurd and a-historical. And even a putz like Joe Klein is telling the batty John McCain to "shut up" over Iran at this point.

Pretty sure that this dog won't hunt for the GOP. Maybe you could get 2012 fanboy Mark Sanford to give you your next talking point?

When Obamunists were dissenting, it was deemed patriotic.
Now when conservatives raise obvious questions about leadership and support of American values like freedom, we're called trolls.
Remember when the liberal elites fancied themselves more intelligent than the poor unwashed masses?
Their petty level of discourse would seem to undermine their elevated, self-righteous opinion of themselves.
Just more hypocrisy as usual for an America that's waking up to their false promises.

I would just like to point out that Pres. Bush was criticized for continuing to read a book to a classroom of children for 5 minutes on 9/11 and for playing golf during the start of the Iraq war. The press had no problem pointing this out and criticsing him. Now, Pres. Obama takes heat for playing golf and eating ice cream during the Iran crisis. It was stupid to criticize Pres. Bush and it is equally stupid to criticize Pres. Obama over engaging in enjoyable activities just because there is a crisis going on. I would, however, like to see the media be equally unfair to Obama as they were to Bush, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Jake,
I don't think the liberal elites consider themselves intellectually superior to the unwashed masses, rather we consider ourselves intellectually superior to the rump of the conservative movement that spends their afternoons listening to rush and their evenings attending to the loofah man, BillO.

The term "concern troll" is not a pejorative one denoting a hairy beast that lives under a bridge, it is a descriptive term for one that insincerely or manipulatively takes a side in an argument feigning concern for a particular point of view...which is exactly what McCain, Spencer, and the rest of the GOP are doing in Iran. Three weeks ago, these people felt that the only good Arab was a a dead one. This week, they suddenly have come to the realization that Persians aren't even Arabs, and the nascent movement in Tehran is the equivalent of Lexington and Concord. Please.

To /Mr.:

And what is wrong with listening to Rush in the afternoon? Do have someone better that you recommend listening to?

Is it too much to ask Obama to speak out and support the spread of democracy?

I am curious.

Who said that the only good Arab is a dead one? When you deal in hyperbole you make yourself sound very, very stupid.

I always find it amusing that the titular head of the GOP and the person from whom you receive your talking points is a thrice divorced sex tourist with a long history of illicit drug abuse who preaches on social values.

Shields _ I can't understand why a conservative would want to waste time listening to a hypocritical, drug addicted chicken hawk.

I am curious.

Yes, Scott, don't you know it's far more patriotic to listen to disgusting Dave Letterman and his smarmy, misogynist rants endorsing rape of Governor Palin and her fourteen year-old daughter.

Shields doesn't appear to be particularly curious, especially when it comes to anything that might challenged his limited and distorted world view.
