Bill Moyers: The Queer Hunter

Turns out PBS' Progressive moralist Bill Moyers was a gay-hunting, would-be blackmailer during his LBJ years.

Although he isnt a politician, I would still like to hear Moyers tell his side of the story. To keep quiet about it will just create more doubt.
Was he just following directions from LBJ? thats possible. But hey, if its his skeleton, he should own up to it. An unclean closet can get pretty crowded. Right Carter?

Mr. Spencer-
The Wall Street Journal article you reference does NOT use the word "queer". Why do YOU feel the need to call gay people "queer"? Are you an anti-gay bigot that likes to promote these outdated stereotypes?

The headline is a play on words with The Deer Hunter. Deer rhymes with Queer, see?

There are TV shows that use the term: Queer as Folk. Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. And whole fields of academic course work called Queer Studies.

But back when Bill Moyers was hunting homosexuals for political purposes "queer" was a more pejorative term.

And isn't great that Mr. Anonymous takes exception to the use of the word "queer" but has no comment on Mr. Moyers' lovely work as Democratic operative trying to uncover closeted gays in the Johnson adminstration.

Bob,
I would like to hear Moyers' side of the story too. At the moment, he doesn't seem very anxious to tell it.

Do you have a problem with my belief that homosexuality is wrong, that it is unnatural, and that it is immoral (a sin)?

Also, is homosexuality something that we shuold be teaching our children is normal?

Lastly, I do not live in fear, but I do live in a world where there are many people that are sick, crazy, and very violent. Don't knock me for being prepared.

Carter - Where do you get off talking about morality when you're not man enough to keep a simple promise?

You asked "Also, is homosexuality something that we shuold be teaching our children is normal?"
Well Carter, I think we should be teaching them spelling first (hint hint).

Lastly, you talk of a world where people are sick, crazy and very violent. Hmmm. I do recall an earlier post where you claimed your father thinks you are crazy.
And you do have this fascination with guns. And aggressive dogs.
Hey! Remember that old cartoon Pogo? He had a great saying. "We have found the enemy, and he is us"

BTW, I do see you in Media now and then, and I always say hi. Maybe the next time I'll introduce myself. Then again, maybe not.

My goodness - I spelled should wrong - I must be whipped for that. My dad doesn't think I am crazy and he at one point did not understand all of reality, or my rational belief in all of our Constitution. I am not going to argue with you and if you ever grow a set stop me in Media and say hi - I don't bite.

The dogs, they are both incredibly gentle and they get a bad rap cause they are such beautiful specimens of their respective breeds - they are both Kimbertal pups and very well bred.

Carter - Your Dad doesn't think you are crazy? Hmmm. I think these are your words, aren't they? Something you posted earlier today? - "That is right, my Dad thinks I am crazy with the guns, doberman, rottweiler, hummer, bmw, hayabusa, boat, etc..."

I'm glad someone over there is well bred.

Carter - Grow a set? I'm not the one who's afraid to leave the house without a gun. You need a reality check!

I think "Baaahb" and "Carter" need to play Tennis at Barrall Park on Edgemont Ave & State Street in Media. Maybe this way they can come together and settle their differences.

Mayor C. Scott,

Congratulations on your mis-spell of "should" - someday, with hard work, you'll achieve the advanced mis-spelling levels of one steve mcdonald.

Steve - While you're at it, maybe you can explain to Carter, why its important for a man to keep his word when he makes a promise. On second thought, it's probably a waste of time.
BTW - You never did tell me what it was about NPR that you dislike.
