Big Government's Trickle Down
The Democrats' form of trickle-down economics: Give more money to government (or allow it to print more money) and watch it trickle-down to the little people.
Only it won't.
Money Q:
"White House adviser Larry Summers argued that any stimulus must be "targeted, timely and temporary." This bill does the opposite. Mr. Obama pledged to "scour our federal budget, line by line, and make meaningful cuts." His cuts are unspecific and fanciful, while Congress's spending will be real and record-setting. Discretionary domestic spending will have nearly doubled by the time Mr. Obama stops dithering and starts scouring."
OK, so Bush, Rove and the Republicans deserved the criticism they got for not controlling spending when they were in office. Is that any reason to give Obama and the Democrats a pass on this nightmare of a non-stimulus package?

to take the side of a former poster and sometimes anonymous contributor - it's a shame we don't have electric and compressed air vehicles on the open market.
Call me idiotic, but I think a new technology would take us out of this recession. Worked between Bush and Clinton as computers and this wacky thing called the internet was brewing...
good points by rove on education and health care spending in the stimulus bill. Why fund areas where they experienced job growth? Focus on other open market areas. E.g. Infrastructure improvements would be acceptable and in a lot of cases, sorely needed (e.g. Bridge collapse in MN)
