Tribal Instincts

To trash Bush was to belong to the tribe.

Sounds right.

Like laughing at "Bush is stupid" jokes.

Bush is the one trying to claim that everything bad that happened on his watch as not his fault (even though it was either his policies or the direct result of his policies).
The problem with Bush being stupid is that it's not funny, it's sad and tragic and an embarrassment.

Notice how fake-cowboy Bush is moving to Dallas instead of his Crawford ranch. Only one more day of this fool in office.

9/11 caught everyone off guard - I can't blame Bush any more than Clinton for the non-communication between the CIA and FBI - no president before saw this coming - it was the first attack on our soil since Pearl Harbor. But you'll refuse to recognize that he did reorganize both into a single department - Homeland Security - that will have a lasting effect on our safety. Let's also remember that, despite your criticisms, we haven't been attacked since 09/11 - liberals refuse to acknowledge this FACT, and I challenge you to break the chains and do so, diano.

Bush entered office in a recession and will leave in a recession, separated by 52 months of job growth and prosperity - this following an extended period in 2001-2002 where 09/11 scared the hell out of investors. Guess we'll forget about that one too. Should I mention regulating Fallie Mae and Freddie Mac or should we sweep that one under the table?

Bush dialed down taxes for everyone while the media and democrats focused on upper echelons knowing that the difference was minimal yet the effect of criticisims meant easy votes. Go read the blog of the skeptical optimist and see how these claims are nonsense.

Bush attempted to correct the continuous decline of math & science scores of our students compared to the world and set out to make standards and hold accountability with the "No Child Left Behind" act. It received little to no cooperation.

Sure, we're all still suspect of the War in Iraq, but there could be interesting long term results. Bush has paved the way for two democracies in the middle east - more progress in the middle east in his administration than in hundreds of years of fighting.

Katrina? Did George W. Bush build the faulty levees? Did we not watch the Governor (Blanco) and Mayor (Nagin) plead with residents to leave prior to the storm? Were there not hoards of shuttles available? And was the federal gov't's services turned down prior to the hurricane? Or are we going to condemn him to hell because someone like Kanye West plays the race card on national TV which was totally uncalled for, but popular because he's a celebrity for the MTV generation and what he says goes?

Look, I'm not out to crown him a great president, I have mu criticisms as well especially with the environment, but I can make an arguement that most on the campaign trail tried to ask me: My life is definately better than it was in 2000.

I used that $300 stimulus check in 2001 on books for grad school (Fall Semster 2001, Spring Semster 2002). I walked away with a graduate degree during this time. Lower taxes allowe me to spend some of that money on my degree as well as savings for a home.
I got married in 2002 and have had three children since - all three are thriving. I purchased a house in 2004 - did it without the standard 20% down and with little education on RE Financing. I have done well salary-wise since 2000, advancing my pay. We keep two vehicles and a comfortable home. So, yes, I can say that my life si better off now than it was eight years ago. I guess the Bush administration didn't find a way to destroy my life after all.
Go figure.

the only thing I didn't do in those eight years was start my own business. I don't blame the president on that one - rather, I lay the blame on my averseness to risk as well as my need for more "connections."
