Enjoy the optimism while you have it. My early prediction is that the Holy Obama goes down as the Herbert Hoover of his generation, although I'll credit Hoover with having more experience when he entered office. BUT, Obama clearly was the right man, after all, he had catchy logos. In four years, I'm voting for whoever has a logo that best resembles facebook!
I did hear rumors that after the Holy Obama states "So help me God" to the dismay of aethists, God will send down an angel bearing briefcases full of $5 Trillion in American dollars. We're saved!

Sorry. The Herbert Hoover role is already being played by Bush.
Just like the campaign, the Obama team continues to impress with the transition and a thoughtful, intelligent approach to the issues before them.

Yeah, logos and blackberry emails don't really translate into results. I stand by the Hoover prediction on this one - might as well build a huge dam somewhere in order to get people working.
Impress with the transition - media bias working on all cylinders here. Hell, Obama could drop a deuce in the Oval Office bathroom and the press is going to complement the scent.
Amateur Libs trying their best to spin positive for Obama are funny.

Well, Bush "dropped a deuce" over the whole country and not only have the conservatives tried to market it like it was Channel No. 5, you all wanted to double-down with more of the same moose-droppings with "odor of Palin".
79% of the country is optimistic about Obama and like his professional approach. State-of-Union speech coming up. Stay tuned.

Obama is a speaker - we all know that. I don't fall in love just because someone has the gify of oratory skills. Plus, I'm not impressed with the whole transition when most of the appointees are Clinton retreads plus one guy who didn't pay taxes (Sweep that one under the carpet as well)

ADmit that even you are shocked at the $170 million dollars being spent on the inauguraion. Couldn't Obama do it cheaper so that he could set an example for the "commoner" that he appealed to?
Ramos and Compean had their sentences commuted, that is a good thing. They will finally be home with their wife and children. Another hooray for Bush. Even the democrats are applauding this one.

It figures you'd buy into the phony cost of inauguration story being peddled mostly on Fox. The actual cost of Bush's inauguration was $157 million INCLUDING the security costs, however numbers for Bush in the $40-$45 million don't include security and other costs.
Considering the vastly greater number of people expected to be at Obama's swearing in and the need for proportionally greater security, the Obama spending a similar amount, but for a much larger event.
Keep on spinning.. maybe you'll convince yourself that McCain/Palin really won the election and are getting sworn in.
Ramos and Compean shot an unarmed man and covered it up. If it was a clean shooting, they wouldn't have had to cover it up. They should have gotten the death penalty (which is a lot tougher to commute).

I'm against illegal drugs coming over the border, but I'm okay with less expensive prescription drugs coming across. You neocons need some Ritalin to help with your attention span.
The drug shipment was 800 lbs of marijuana. There's more than that at local high schools, and I'm not sure what the local neocons that post here are smoking. Besides a daily vitamin and 81mg aspirin, I don't take any drugs. Are you sure those Cuban cigars you like are made with just tobacco?
obviously, diano won't answer this one, backing a drug dealer who 1) had no business crossing the border, and 2) smuggling illegal substances as well. My only assumption is that he carries compassion for the drug smugglers of north america.
So, marijuana, while still illegal in this country, is perfectly acceptable to cross the border, in your opinion? Before you delete that comment in embarrassment, I'll be sure to hit "Print Screen" for future use.
By the way, in lieu of taking down the smuggler, should we have given him a soccer trophy?
Feel free to call me a neocon, doesn't hurt my feelings - as I think I've shown more center-thought in this blog than anyone else. And if I were to leave this blog in a flurry of rage, writinging blog posts about Gil with the F-Word in the title and deleting all my past posts on Spencerblog, I'd be sure to keep my word.

800 lbs of marijuana is not sufficient cause to shoot someone. And law enforcement officers that cover up their shootings wind up destroy the faith of the people in law enforcement that is needed to maintain order.
The smuggler was unarmed. They should have just arrested him.
If you think that anyone who is against these officers' illegal shooting is also advocating to reward drug dealers then you are far from "center" and even further from reality.
Blogging about Gil with the F-word, and having him accept me back without the apology that demanded shows what a fraud he has always been (besides his hypocrisy in allowing all of r's blatant racism). I removed my posts to deny Gil their value.

I said there was no point posting on this blog if Spencer was going to block me for calling him on racism and bigotry and that I wouldn't apologize in order to come back.
I'm not sure that I specifically and unconditionally "vowed" "never" to return, but I did say I'd never apologize to Spencer.
Besides with Obama in office, gloating over the Bush, Cheney, McCain, Palin supporters is just too much fun.
So Gil banned me from here for a couple of days and I was not permitted to celebrate our First Affirmative Action President Day with the rest of you.
I’m not gonna cry about free speech like some Lib would. I well know that private blog boards come with no assurance of free expression. But neither am I likely to just let it go without calling him on it.
Gil’s selective censorship of me smacks of Libism and certainly violates the spirit of free speech –and this from a supposed journalist and conservative. It also runs counter to the principles of fairness and decency, and conservatism -at a time when we need all the opposition voices we can get.
I know why he did it. For the same reason he always pretends to distance himself from me -much as he slandered me in his print column back when this blog started and for the very same reason.
G works hard at maintaining his feigned Centrist persona. It shows. But we all know he agrees with me much more than he’ll ever admit –even DDD knows it. So Gil’s a coward who would rather appear a heavy-handed Moderate than stand for what he believes.
Of course, with comment moderation enabled he could have easily just monitored each of my posts and censored me accordingly if he felt it warranted. But this way he got make a big ego show of it and come off looking like Spencer the Great Moderate Moderator, as he did.
And let’s not forget that his banning of me was not predicated on any real infraction on my part. No, rather it was because of his assumptions about what I might have to say. So we’re convicting and sentencing people on mere assumptions now, rather than for blog board crimes actually committed. Disappointing. I even stood up for Dishonest Dave back when he got banned for real crimes. And everyone knows the dishonest tripe he posts is much more offensive than anything I ever have here.
So instead of standing up for what is right or what he believes in –or at the very least permitting others the freedom to do so- Gil elected to take the coward way out and feed his ego in the process. The Apologist Lib Media got Obama elected by protecting him with their underhanded bias and by silencing all opposition, just as Gil did to me here. At least the Libs are upfront with their bias these days. Would Gil have done the same to a Lib critic back at Bush’s inauguration day? Of courses not. He did it because Obama is black. Period. There’s that Racial Double Standard again.
Watch as Gil shows his hypocrite side when the Fairness Doctrine becomes the hot topic of the day and he rails again censorship. What a Dave.
And the next time I run into him at a bar he’ll be back to trying to be my buddy.
I've gotta hand it to G for having the nads to post my rant here. Maybe he's not so Lib after all.
