Eco Standands for Economy

The economy is not a machine that can be fixed.

It's more like an eco-system.

No kidding. It is, after all, made up of billions of human beings making quadrillions of economic decisions per minute.

Somebody call Al Gore. He understands it all so well.

The economy sure acted like a machine when Bush broke it. No routine maintenance or inspections. And driving it off a cliff didn't help either.

More Bush Derangement Syndrome Diano? That can't be, Diano is so smart he must know what drives the economy, or doesn't he?

The only way government can ever make prosperity is to get out of the way and let people like me figure out new ways to make wealth. Government can not make poor people rich by making rich people poor. Got that Diano?

Bush Derangement Syndrome? How about all you neocons with Clinton Derangement Syndrome? (or just plain derangement?)
I know what drives an economy off the cliff: lack of proper and responsible oversight, failure to invest in job training and education, failure to negotiate fair trade deals, failure to invest in next generation technologies so we don't fall behind, etc.

People like YOU figuring out new ways to make wealth? How many ambulances would we need to build for people to chase in your economy? Or would we just "pray" for wealth?

Yeah, the Left polluting capitalism with their manipulating social Liberalism sure did a number on our economy, didn’t it.

At least I employ people and I DO pay 100% of their medical benefits. What do you do to contribute to the economy? By the way, I would rather pay all of the medical insurance for my empoyees than have any government run program. My way is much cheaper.

Good man, Mr. S.
And you do it for your employees because you choose to, as a reward, not because some Lib union or Lib legislators bullied you into it.
And unlike such Libs things which are notoriously blind to economic reality and end up crippling buisnesses, I'm sure you'll reluctantly repeal your med bennie policy should your company's economic possition ever change for the worse. All as it should be.

Delusional Diano strikes again with more of his half truths and outright lies.

Dave, in 2007 Bush asked seventeen times for more regulation of the sub prime lending industry. All we heard was assurances from the people who wrote the programs (Mr. Frank and Chris "Countrywide" Dodd) was how stable the industry was.

Families are still recovering from the shock of an unnecessary energy crisis this past year which I blame in large part on the environmentalist nut jobs and their surrogates in the Democratic Party that refuse to allow any domestic energy production, and don't mind sending hundreds of billions of dollars a year to countries that more then likely hate us.

And now you brain surgeons want a tax on carbon emissions. Brilliant, at a time when most people's budgets are maxed out, you clowns want basic things like gas and electricity to be more expensive.

Failure to invest in education? Did you ever hear of No Child Left Behind?

Clinton signed off on NAFTA champ, not Bush.

Take off your partisan blinders and come join us in reality Dave.

Nicholas-
17 times? In one day? Once every three weeks? Of course, Bush's idea of regulation for programs that try to help the poor is to dismantle them.
The war in Iraq and the threat of more war in Iran under McCain drove up the price. The current drop in price is due to the Bush recession/depression slowing down the economy and demand currently and into the near future. Energy independence is not a situation we can drill ourselves out of. We need significant replacement for oil, because even domestic drilling wouldn't cut it otherwise.

No Child Left Behind has been a failure. The programs have been dumbed-down and schools are having teachers teach-to-the-test. In Texas, it was finally discovered that Bush's "success" was due to schools giving the day off to the dumbest kids on testing day, to artificially boost the scores. No Child Left Behind was a GOP unfunded mandate.

Nicholas, in your "reality", what color is the sky? It's blue here in the real world.
Bush has done a crappy job on the economy and everything else he's touched. The country (and the world) are worse off as a result of his 8 years in office. We dodged a bullet with McCain/Palin.
