The Cult of Personality

The stars are pledging to be servants to our president and "all mankind."

This is creeping some people out.

Not us. But it does make you wonder. There isn't a pledge in here that couldn't have been made under George W. Bush.

Guess he just wasn't inspiring enough.

Guess Bush wasn't sincere enough or just too misguided as to the direction he wanted to steer the country. Those that wanted to serve justice and freedom couldn't follow Bush off the cliff.

BTW, Spencer, you have been awful quiet about Obama stepping up to the plate on his first day with sweeping ethics reform against lobbying, against conflicts of interest, and against lack of transparency. Obama's actually doing even more than Bush's hollow ethics promises were supposed to do.

The test of this "sweeping ethics reform" will be when the teachers unions, trial lawyers and environmental lobby come knocking for their hard-earned favors.
By the way, can you imagine the Democrat free-for-all if Bush had flubbed his oath of office? At least with this mistake, B Hussein got a do-over.
Maybe Democrat Presidents just have problems with oaths. Remember all the trouble Clinton had with his wedding vows.

Roberts was the one that screwed it up.
Bush ran the least ethical, most partisan administration. He put pro-industry lobbyists in charge of regulating their patrons. His administration repeated violated the Hatch Act (and got away with it by blocking investigations).
Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Roberts was the one that screwed it up. I present to you, ladies and gentlemen, the difference between a pshrill partisan and and an independent mind. I believe I was the first commenter to say anything about the oath of office - go back and you'll see that I note "It doesn't matter" as to who "screwed it up". To be honest, I thought Obama jumped the gun at the beginning while Roberts jumbled up the following line. But partisans will automatically take their side knowing the chief justice was appointed by an evil neocon.

This is why you can't take david diano seriously. Even when it comes down to the smallest of things, he's taking sides with his allegedly "independent" opinions. Throw him in there with randal in the crazy bin, they're here for nothing more than entertainment purposes.

The majority of celebrities follow the left and I could care less. These same celebrities are the type to promise to move out of the country if (Republican Presidential Candidate) is elected president in (election year). See? Cut and paste every four years.

Obama screwed up the oath, as he should have repeated the first four words first. For the most perfect President ever, I was surprised that he didn't rehearse it. As for ethical reform, Obama immediately made an exception for an under secretary of defense position for a Raytheon lobbyist, and I think the liberal excuse was tough rules sometimes have to be ignored. Also, how is it ethical to nominate a tax cheat to be Secretary of the Treasury? Could this be the administratio of "do as we say, not as we do"?

Soon, Liberalism will be the island of misfit toys.
