Coach Granju and Team Obama

Blogger and Obama supporter Katie Granju doesn't believe Obama right-hand man David Axelrod, who said the President Elect talked to Gov. Blago about who would fill his senate seat and is now recanting that statement, claiming he "misspoke."

Granju writes:

"The correct approach for the Obama team would have been to make it clear that this isn't their crisis to manage. It has absolutely nothing to do with Obama, and he could have driven that point home by being completely upfront. He should have told the truth, saying something like, "Yes, of course I've discussed who would take my vacant Senate seat with the governor, but I had absolutely no knowledge that the guy was at the same time attempting to illegally sell the seat to the highest bidder. That sickens me."  That's what Obama should have said."

Well, given the presumption of innocence and what not, maybe something more along the lines of -

"I had absolutely no knowledge that the guy was at the same time allegedly attempting to illegally sell the seat to the highest bidder. That allegedly sickens me."

Of course the Obama team knew about the selling of the seat, because Rahm Emanual was one of the people reported Gov Blog to the FBI.

Tempest in a teapot. Gov Blog is on tape complaining that Obama wouldn't bribe him. Point Obama.

Random liberal bloggers like Granju don't represent the collective bloggers that view this as a win for Obama.
