No Stake In The Heart

Proud - and occasionally unhinged - liberal Thomas Frank at least gets this right: Conservatism is not dead.

"This is a story of decline but not necessarily of fall. Conservatives may believe that impoverished borrowers destroyed Wall Street. But we liberals will not fool ourselves that stupid bankers sank conservatism for good. This movement will be back, and the biggest fights are yet to come."

The Great Depression and the recent market collapse that stemmed directly from Republican policies and philosophy of lax oversight.

The pillars of conservative financial thought, as conceded by no one less than Alan Greenspan himself, are fundamentally flawed.

This aspect of conservatism is dead, like Dracula with a stake in his heart, until someone foolishly removes the stake.

The greatest failing of Conservatism is that we always take the high road. If we had stooped to the Lying Liberal level that won this election for them we would have faired better.
We just need to retool before next time and beat them at their own dishonest game.

The "High Road"???

Is that the road you travel on when you are "high" and see things like being greeted as liberators?

If the Republicans stooped any lower this election cycle with all their race-baiting and anti-American rhetoric, they could limbo under an ant's belly.

Only a true neocon would want to go as dirty as possible to win the next election (and be so disconnected from reality to fail to grasp that the negative campaigning backfired and cost McCain the election).

"r", are you sure that you didn't help with the planning to invade Iraq? I would be OVERJOYED to write you a recommendation letter to make you a high-ranking member of the RNC to help plan the 2012 strategy.

The only race-baiting and anti-Americanism in this election came from the Leftist Obama camp. They really used the Race Card weapon to a despicable level. To say otherwise is a lie.

I didn't say I wanted the Repubs to go as low as possible, just as low as the lying LibDonkeys.
