Ms. Lafferty on Mrs. Palin

Hmmm, what does for Elaine Lafferty, former Ms. magazine editor and a Democrat know about Sarah Palin that most of her brilliant, cosmopolitan detractors don't?

Well, a lot.

For one thing, she's actually met her.

Money Q:

Palin asks questions, and probes linkages and logic that bring to mind a quirky law professor I once had. Palin is more than a “quick study”; I'd heard rumors around the campaign of her photographic memory and, frankly, I watched it in action. She sees. She processes. She questions, and only then, she acts. What is often called her “confidence” is actually a rarity in national politics: I saw a woman who knows exactly who she is.

Read the whole thing. But note when Lafferty refers to Title IV, I think she means Title IX.

If Palin agreed to do more interviews (besides on Fox), this wouldn't be an issue.

Palin has the confidence of someone so completely clueless that she has no idea how wrong and out of touch she is. She's "confident" that the Earth is 6,000 years old and men lived with dinosaurs.

The more you keep on swinging Mr. SpencerBlog, the more you remind us of Tampa Bay.

Spoken, of course, by someone who has met and spent significant time with her.

Go back to defending Billy Ayers, anonymously of course.

you picked a real loser with this one Gil...

She is a paid Plain advisor and a PUMA.

Palin is best suited to be behind a desk at Fox News, she is bright and adapts well. I don't think she's dumb, I just think she lacks a grasp of the real American political picture. She may be great for Alaska, which is really a world of its own. She may develop and run in 2012. But she is not ready...

She is already trying to break free of the advisors placed with her...

I will not call her dumb, but I will call her wrong for this country now.

and I'm being very very nice here.

Well, that's a start.

BTW - Sarkozy feels the same way about Obama and his grasp of the Iranian picture.

Mr. SpencerBlog,
Her cluelessness is obvious from the interviews she has given, but there is also stuff leaking from the campaign itself.

The reporting from the McCain campaign insiders has been that Palin was clueless on national and international policy.
According to Robert Draper:

---I’m sympathetic to Eskew and Wallace, and not just because they’re decent people. They’ve held their tongue from leaking what a couple of McCain higher-ups have told me—namely, that Palin simply knew nothing about national and international issues. Which meant, as one such adviser said to me: “Letting Sarah be Sarah may not be such a good thing.” It’s a grim binary choice, but apparently it came down to whether to make Palin look like a scripted robot or an unscripted ignoramus. ----

Sure, Palin is a fine person to hold public office. She's more qualified than Obama.
Ignore the engineered petty attacks on her waged by the shrill hater LibDems.
