Hated, Victimized, Oppressed are Back

Hey, look who's back. The one and only Catharine MacKinnon.

Don't remember her? She's the radical feminist law professor who believes that all sex between men and women is rape, even between husbands and wives.

Back in the 1990s she caught the ear of Sen. Joe Biden which led to the asinine Violence Against Women Act, which proclaimed violence against women wasn't just a crime it was a civil rights violation.

It asserted that violence against women committed by men was mostly driven by anti-female gender animus. Not passion. Not jealousy. Not profit. Not drunkeness. Anti-female animus.

Fortunately for the cause of justice, that portion of the law was overturned by the Supreme Court. Not even Sandra Day O'Connor could support a law that treated women as a class of victims with men as their institutional oppressors.

Apparently, with Obama ready to take over the presidency and liberals ready to make even greater gains in Congress, victim-feminists like MacKinnon feel safe enough to venture out of the academy (University of Michigan) and once again take their rightful place in political society. That would be in lecturing others and crafting legislation to protect women who are too dumb to know they are hated, victimized, and oppressed by the average American male.

UPDATE: (More)

"Gender justice calls for far more than the conventional equality approach that treats likes alike."

Got that? So writes, Professor MacKinnon. Out with "conventional equality," that is, equal justice under the law, and in with "Gender Justice."

What would Gender Justice look like.

First, judges have to be allowed to recognize that women are second-class citizens, born to be victimized and so need special protections against the scourge known as men. Once that is understood, everything else falls beautifully into place. Men accused of rape and found not guilty in state court, can be prosecuted in federal court for allegedly violating the civil rights of their accuser. This is what the Supreme Court threw out of VAWA. Time to bring it back, according to MacKinnon. And Obama's just the liberal kind of guy to put the sort of justices on the Supreme Court willing to do so.

Happy Days are here again.

Bravo! It's so rare to see someone actually come out in favor of violence against women and for rapists. So, in your view, the women aren't "victims", the must have been asking for it. And just because women can get pregnant from rape, are the primary target of rape, and are generally physically weaker than their attackers, doesn't mean they should be treated differently that the male rapists themselves.

What's next for you? Not treating child rape "recipients" (not to call them "victims") as a separate class either?

An anonymous poster seems to agree with Prof. MacKinnon that all sex, even between husbands and wives, is rape. And that "conventionally equality" needs to be replaced by "gender justice."

Welcome to Obama's Brave New World.

Just as every Radical Liberal kooky activist group came out of the woodwork looking to have their whacky agendas implemented when the Dems took control of Congress, so too we see all the nuts salivating at the prospect of a Leftist Obama presidency.
Do we really want to give such folks expanded influence they would enjoy with Radical Liberals controlling the White House AND BOTH houses of Congress? Scary.

Professor Spencer "seems to agree" that rape victims aren't really "victims".

Alaska has the 3 times the average US rate of rape. Palin had opposed paying for rape kits, and is currently on record as opposed to abortion in cases of rape/incest as well at the morning after pill given to rape victims. Professor Spencer supports Palin. Do the math.

Welcome to Pro-Rape's Brave New World.

Rape victims like Crystal Gail Mangum AREN'T really victims because they weren't really raped.

But try telling that to the brilliant professors at Duke University, who practically had the school's white lacrosse players convicted even before they were erroneously charged.

If Sarah Palin is responsible for the rape rate in Alaska is Sen. Barack Obama responsible for the murder rate in Chicago?

The rape kit story is absolute canard and his been demolished. Still it gets peddled by Obama supporters, who believe themselves better than those McCainiacs who claim Barack is a Muslim. They aren't better, just think of themselves as such.

MacKinnon is a radical kook. Even most feminists shake their heads at her nutty assertions. Including that 90 percent of gay men were molested by their fathers. And her comment that gay men don't rape women because they "rape each other" instead.

Yeah, that's the sort of claptrap Democrats need to be associating themselves with on the eve of the New Progressive Dawn.

So, are you one of those people that thinks "date rape" is instead just "regret" or "denial" the next morning? Or if a girl gets completely drunk (and taken advantage of) that it's "okay" because she's the one that got herself drunk and should "know better"?

How is it equivalent that Obama (as a legislator supporting laws against rape/murder) bears the same responsibility as Palin (an "executive" charged with enforcing the laws and preventing crime)?

Of course the real issue is that MacKinnon is not representative of any real policy initiatives under consideration. However, you clearly represent the right-wing resistance to any rights for women (or blacks, gays, immigrants, etc.)

Are rape kits onea them “important issues” the LibDems say we need to stick to?
In that case, let’s talk about our own Governor, Fast Eddie –a LibDem- and the fact that PA doesn’t pick up the cost of rape kits either.

(Lol… Lying Libs are so easy…)

rendell has a good record and signed legislation standardizing rape kits. the state doesn't pay for rape kit, brainiac. the rule is the local municipalities pay for the kits. in wasilla, palin stopped paying for the kits until the alaska state passed a law requiring her town to pay.

Umm, the point is that once again you’re grasping at petty crap to attack Palin, DDD. What ever happened to staying positive and sticking to “important issues” that you kept weeping about?

I demand a tally of every single small town across the country to see which pay for rape kits and which do not. Oh, and add a break down of which are run by Dems and which are run by Repubs. Maybe –maybe- then and only then we’ll take your petty ****** crap seriously.

Hehehehe…
