A Surge for High Crime Neighborhoods?

If this scares you, you're a liberal.

UPDATE: Spencerblog says: Communities generally get the law enforcement they demand and the level of crime they are willing to tolerate.

Discuss.

Sure. For some time now folks have been saying send the National Guard into the urban war zones. But in places like Philly such ideas face opposition from the anti-cop/ pro-criminal lobby as well as the racial gamesters determined to see race in every issue. To them, somehow police crackdowns are a racial issue while the overwhelming black crime rate is not. Go figure.

It is insane that such rampant crime is tolerated in virtually every urban diversity area in 2008 America. Circumstances dictate that even military intervention is warranted.

Urban crime is not a military police-state issue, you goose-stepping idiot.

This is starting to sound really childish. It's as though we have this new buzz word- "surge" and it's the cure for all of our ills. We can give everyone $600 and have a "surge" in the economy. McCain is looking for a "Surge" in the polls. Ooops! Another "surge" in the price of oil! Just one question. With the shortage in the military, where do we get the soldiers for the "Surge" into crime ridden areas? After 9/11, I thought we would protect our borders, airports and ports with the guard. And after reading about all of the gang members coming in from Central and S. America, it seemed like the next logical step. Use the national guard to guard the nation. But no! Bush had a better idea. Lets invade a sovereign nation that was about as much of a threat to us as Vietnam was. And so, as a result, our troop levels are stretched to the breaking point. The solution? Lower the qualifications to join the military so many with criminal backgrounds are now allowed to serve. I mean, it makes sense. Put weapons in the hands of convicted criminals, cause they probably already know how to use em. So we could end up paying the fox to guard the hen house. Kind of like how we pay some of the insurgents in Iraq.

Philadelphia needs the reincarnation of Frank Rizzo. Rizzo will take names and kick ass all the way. But for now, the city needs to go with Nutter's plans, they owe it to him in his first term.

The Lib weepers are funny today!

One goes for the tired "Nazi" tag when she has nothing else to offer and the other hates the word "surge" just because Bush used it to win the Iraq war! Lol...

Hurt Feelings can do funny things to the petty weak minded!

Police need to be able to handle this issue but aI do think they need to borrow tactics from the military. And while we may agree on aspects of this issue, Randall is still a dick.

You seem to agree with me a whole lot more than you care to admit, Dingus. Good. You don’t have to agree with me on everything. Just so long as you keep making progress, it’s all good. There’s hope for you yet!

Nah, S. DDD talks about penises too much for me. I’d be afraid he’d try to grab my gear or slip me some tongue. Ew.
