Speaker of the Planet II

Krauthammer on Pelosi's refusal to allow a vote on oil drilling.

She's trying to "save the planet," not to mention her Democrat colleagues an embarrassing vote in the House.

No wonder Congress' approval rating is 9 percent.

UPDATE: NYT's Krugman says Pelosi isn't "crazy." What a relief. But wait! Who's vouching for Krugman?

Blahblahblah... More weepy filthy blind obstructionist LibDem lies.
Why should I use actual facts or contribute to the topic in any useful way when you don't, DDD?

Here, I will anyway...

The fact of the matter is that a small but powerful band of obstructionist Hurt Feelings Libs, bent on opposing Bush at every turn no matter the topic, and beholden to their shrill Enviro activist special interest Lobby buddie$, have decided to ignore the clear will of The People for whom they are supposed to work. Period. Pretty simple really.

All your lame "arguments" mean nothing because this is supposed to be a democracy in which our elected officials do our bidding, not go out of their way to obstruct it.
And EVEN IF drilling would yeild no near time benefit, it doesn't matter. It is what We The People have decided we want in this here democracy. Period. Who are the LibDems -with a 9% aproval rating- to blindly block that?

You A$$hats make it seem like voting today is going to make an immediate impact on pump prices.

Did you check out Chevron's profit report today? 11% more than the last record.

Spencer and RR are such tools, they should have Craftmans stamped on their foreheads,

Yeah. Me, Gill and 75% of the rest of the country.

And gas company profits have nothing to do with this. Looks like you have been listening to the Socialist LibDem obstructionists a bit too much, Anon.

It’s funny how you really will say anything in your grasping efforts… Well, funny, in a pathetic and dishonest sort of way...

There is one question that I am surprised no one seems to be asking: who gets the money if we drill?

Both sides of the issue agree there's oil in the alaskan shelf. Both sides agree that we can get oil from other locations as well. There's got to be somebody who really profits from drilling anwr.
What I want to know is who makes the money if we do drill it?

Yeah Anon is a pretty big a$$hat. Guess he forgot to check Chevron's profits from last year to this year. If he/she did, they would have realized Chevron's income from US operations (part that can be taxed by USA) dropped while non-US operations accounted for the US loss and the 11% increase. How are we going to tax Chevron on that money made overseas?

Oh wait, did you forget Chevron makes most of it's money overseas along with Exxon, BP, and Conoco?

Jonas once again brings up a very good point. If the capitalist-hating LibDems indeed go ahead and steal oil company profits with their Socialist misnomer “windfall” tax, this could very likely drive them overseas to more friendly environs. How then will the Socialist Donkeys tax them? Why, at the gas pump, of course! Where the consumer can just pay it right up front without the oil co's even having to be inconvenienced.

Liberals are idiots. It is well time we stopped listening to them and this starts by stopping voting them power.
