What's the Matter with Liberals?

When liberal Thomas Frank famously asked "What's the Matter with Kansas" he wanted to know why the residents of that fine state voted Republican and against their economic interests.

Apparantly, the same can be asked of rich and upper middle class liberals who are supporting Barack Obama and his promise to raise taxes on them, taking up to 50 percent of their income.

What's the Matter with These People? Maybe the same thing that is the matter with Kansans. Nothing. Some people vote their values and not their pocketbooks.

Dave,

You seem to forget that Dow tripled under Clinton due to something called the "internet bubble." Do you recall that? I'm sure you do being in your line of business and all. Ask any economist or economy professor, that time will go down just as famous as the great depression. I'm glad it happened, but I also know nothing Clinton did helped or hindered that from happening. We could have had you sitting in the oval office getting BJs and the market would have taken off.

What exactly did Clinton do to cause that? You can look back and see the market was ready for a take off in the late stages of Bush 1s time in office, and the market was ready for a slow down at the end of Clinton's time. Nothing wrong with that, there's no economy that follows a straight line upward. Clinton was in the right spot at the right time and you are making him out to be an economic genius which he wasn't and isn't.

The market drop in the past year is mainly due to the sub-prime industry, which was led by Wall Street. They caused their own demise and they all know it.

And please don't say Obama would have saved Bear Stearns. What would he have done to stop the run on the bank? Any intelligent person knows that Bears was on more stable financial ground than most of the Ibanks at that time, but they had a run on the bank. Didn't help that all the hedge funds in the US shorted their stock causing Bear to be one of the top shorted stocks on the market.

Then again, the hedge funds are being investigated for misconduct. But I'm sure Obama would have had the "insiders" telling him what they were doing so he could stop it.

Wall Street is investing in Obama because they are hedging him to win. They want to be right there next to him if he wins with the money in his pocket so that he'll help Wall Street in any way. If they save 3-5% on taxes by doing this, it's a huge win for them. Why wouldn't they be doing this?

HERE YE HERE YE:
I challenge you to an overall intelligence test. You put up your company and I'll put up my 2007 maserati quattroporte's pink slip. Winner takes all. What say you DD?

R,

I seriously doubt he will. This is a man who said he'll never work for a client who's viewpoint doesn't align with his own. He then goes on to say that he can't know the companies HR policies as he doesn't receive a copy of the HR policy before taking them on as a client.

So what exactly does he base his "approved" company list off of? Companies that only do business in Liberal areas? That is perfectly good in itself, but just because he limits his client base doesn't mean anyone who doesn't follow his are "bought" by corporations.

Then again, since he does design websites, you'd think he'd know that basically any large corporation puts up their healthcare coverage online in its career section of the webpage.

I hope he accepts my challenge. His engineering and IT degrees are very area specific and he hasn't used facts (other than wikipedia, if you consider that a fact. Which no true college does) in any of his arguments outside of those areas.

Then again, Dave judges success based off of being able to answer random facts. He probably thinks that Jennings guy from Jeopardy is the most successful man on earth today. So he may just be a book of random facts that aren't useful to anyone at any point other than a competition like Jeopardy. I'm willing to take my chances though.

I'd love to own his business and have him as my worker.

David,

That's my 4 door sedan. A quattroporte is uninspired? It has a ferrari engine in it. It's the fastest 4 door sedan on the road, beating an M5. Actually, it beats a boxster and z4 in 0 to 60 times. So much for "uninspired."

You want my convertible, I've got a 335i hardtop convertible. You want a sports car, I've got a late 90s carrera with less than 30k miles.

Please don't ever call any of my cars uninspired again after you ask for a porsche boxster. That car is the girliest car ever behind an A4 and jetta. It has 4 cylinders and costs around 40k and is slower than a 350z. How many Maserati's do you see on the road compared to the cars you threw out? And I'm the uninspired one? HA!

How is that wager not realistic? If, as you say, you are intellectually superior to me, why does it matter what you put on the table for the bet? I'd put my entire life on a Kentucky Derby winner to beat the fastest man alive in a 100M dash. I know the horse is superior. If you are, like you claim, why won't you take the bet?

Onto to competition....
Biology would be a great area to start with. I still have that degree hanging on my wall at home. We can then go to math. Seeing I've helped build a few Ibanks "black boxes," I know I can hold my own own with the top math PhDs in the world. You probably have the advantage here but I must say I scored all 5's in my AP calc exams!

We should also have a British and American history section.

And why are you trying to have me buy you out of the competition? Why don't you want to "show me up"?

The balls in your court Dave. You know what I've got and am willing to put on the table (a 335 hardtop is worth more, is faster, and more fun to drive than a boxster). What are you willing to put up that is of equal value?

Some competition rules:
Rule #1: misuse of words are incorrect (no gallons of crude oil answers or cubic sq feet)
Rule #2: upon winning, you must call the winner "your honor" for the rest of life
Rule #3: no crying
Rule #4: when I win, R will dump gatorade/powerade on me as if I just won the Super Bowl and Dave will subsequently wear my wet clothes home

So what is it superman?

Yeahhhhh, I can hear the birds.

I'm sure a Z4 would do you right though Dave. People can lease them for 350 a month and think they have money.

Then again, if I said I had a z4 or mini cooper, you'd say those were boring and a Maserati was inspired.

How about we go to the dealership tomorrow Dave, see what kind of Maserati you qualify for? How about 4pm at the one right by Nova's campus?

Here's the final kicker: your opinion on MY cars doesn't really matter. Call my Maserati lame all you want. You'd be the minority.

Phony wager? Dave, I'm dead serious on this.

We're also adding latin, spanish, french, german, and mandarin to the game.

You did say success was based off of overall knowledge and these are the main languages of today and the past. As such, their knowledge is key to your success!

I have 1 ass with 2 cheeks to clarify. What's wrong with having 4 cars (my SS Range isn't up for sale)? I have 4 door car for the family, convertible for the beach, carrera for weekend cruises, and the SUV for snow. These are all very valid purchases.

Let me get this straight; you can balk at putting up your crappy business but I can't balk at getting on my knees for some dude? I know the whole purpose of that bet (and the videotaping) is for your viewing pleasure.

Since your willing to put $$$ up, then how about you throw up $10,000 cash and I'll throw up $10,000.

There has to be some sort of incentive for me. I can wipe my ass with 200 dollars and not think twice. I might as well spend that time with my kids. Worth much more than $200 that you probably stole from your Daily Times paperboy.

Let the best man win.

Dave,

Who here is a native speaker of french or mandarin? That argument is so lousy I won't even respond.

You said success was based on worldliness and overall knowledge. How wouldn't knowing the top 5 or 7 languages spoken in the world go into those two categories? They definitely do.

Flying to a location and being able to speak the native tongue is way more helpful (and worldly) than trying to speak to someone in computer language. Can you really speak C++ or can it just be read and written response?

That's fine though, we'll add Java and C++ to the languages questions are asked in. I'm fluent in all the other languages, so I'll take a few stabs at the languages you know. I'll still come out understanding more of the questions based on my "success".

And yes Dave, I do have gay friends. What is wrong with that? I'm not gay in any way, but I hold nothing against anyone who is gay. Aren't you all for the gay society, so why should it matter (and better yet, why are you trying to knock that community)? And maybe my friend thinks your hot. I'm sure if you had a trophy wife to put on the table, I could find many of my single friends who'd hook up with her. What's wrong with that?

And no Dave, I accepted your offer. I just know $200 for a sexual act isn't an equal offer. The equal offer is a sexual act for the loser.

My proposal is still on the table. You wanted me on my knees, I decided to change things up a bit.

Seems like you chickened out again. For some reason, you can chicken out of your business, and I can't re-propose my terms upon you making me do sexual acts? That doesn't seem too fair again Dave.

The deal: we take a standard IQ exam written in multiple languages, whoever scores the highest wins. I could argue how invalid this is of anyone's general knowledge, which you stated is the mark of "success." But I'll give you that as I know you feel your IQ is superior and that is your best chance of winning because you know nothing academically outside of engineering and IT stuff and I would rip you a new one in anything outside of that. Which is perfectly fine with me. I'll bring my Mensa friends over to watch this domination!

Just to put a perspective on the IQ test for everyone: Asia Carrera (porn star), Geena Davis, and Julie Peterson (playmate) all scored in the 98th or above percentile. The IQ also shows high degrees of correlation to parental social status (Dave's from rich-boy central and I'm from the Bronx, got me beat there), and also parental IQ (since my parents put me up for adoption, we all know they weren't too smart). So looks like Dave's got the table stacked in his favor.

It'll just take an all-star performance by me to win. Nothing is Impossible!

TERMS OF THE BET:
If you lose: my friend gets his way with you. If I lose: R and I hang out for a bit.

Take it or leave it pansy.

July 2, 2008 at 2:02 PM

A $10,000 straight-up bet is foolish and hardly "fair" as it represents a much smaller percentage of your assets, and you sound pretty silly offering up your $120,000 car against my livelihood, and then a similarly unbalanced $10,000 to get me to take an I.Q. test.

Again Dave, if you winning is guaranteed, why does it matter what you put on the table? I'll put my Maserati against a Ford Taurus anyday for all my assets as I know I'll never lose. There's no risk involved. It's like buying T-bills as an investment.

And since you want a fair proportion of assets per our value: our bet has gone completely away from monetary value into physical humiliation. What is your excuse for not accepting now?

I already slapped the Lib out of Dishonest Dave on this. He is a classic Lib hypocrite and he doesn’t even realize it. So Dave, lets get back to the point...

Do we have a deal?

The whole point of other languages was you based success on knowledge. I can take the IQ test and answer the same on every question as you, but if I know 4 or 5 other languages, I obviously have the same knowledge base on the IQ exam as you as well as a higher understanding of other cultures which would equal a higher knowledge than you.

Maybe that point was too complicated for you.

And no, I'm not self centered with my belongings. Why wouldn't I buy them? I gave 30% of my gross (not taxable) income to charities. What should I do with the rest? Just drive down 9th street in Chester and hand out 100 dollar bills? Riiightttttt.

July 2, 2008 at 4:06 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Just to clarify:

Here's Dave's explanation of success:

As for your being more "successful" than me, you've based your measurement on income rather than the accumulation of knowledge or even the most basic understanding of the physical world around you. I guess the rules of physics are different in your fantasy world.

How is a knowledge (fluency) in multiple languages that are used throughout the world NOT a basic understanding of the physical world around me? When I cross physical borders of countries, different languages are spoken.

You can't win saying languages don't count with what you've previously stated Dave. Sorry, but stop squirming.

Dave,

So are we doing this challenge or what? You keep dodging that simple question. Before you respond to anything else, just answer it like a man. Or, go do some stem cell research, grow yourself some balls, get surgery to attach them, and come back when you're done.

Most business majors from any decent school are making 70k at 25. It's nothing spectacular. It's pretty much expected of them these days.

And for this comment, "I doubt you would consider a teacher driving a beat-up old car to be success." I pity you. I fully feel teachers are successes. Although most of them aren't at the top of their class (this is proven).

Then again, I can drive you past WSSD, Radnor, and Conestoga's teacher lots and show you multiple MBs, BMWs, Lexus's, etc. Those teachers START at 45-50k a year and pay absolutely nothing towards their healthcare like most people working for a business do. That's an extra 3-4k pretax right there. Then lets add on their summer jobs for another 4-6k and you have a 1st year teacher making 52k minimum. Wasn't it you saying someone coming out making 50k is doing F'ing GREAT. How aren't these teachers? They are also guaranteed inflation raises every year unlike business men/women. They also get tenure which no business gives their employees. Somehow I'm feeling an analogy of T-bills to stock market and why T-bills have a lower interest rate.... Hmmm, that's right; lower risk! When you have a guaranteed job with guaranteed increases, you have lower risk. So why should you be paid the same as someone who could be fired tomorrow?

Oh wait, I got it! You generalized teachers as all poor. Well Dave, I could generalize myself as making the same amount of money as you, along with every Exxon, BP, Chevron VP and we'd all be driving beat up cars with a small office.

So don't you pity the business owners who drive beat up cars? I know I feel they should get more tax breaks!

And Dave, I'm still waiting for your link on the tax asset amounts. It shouldn't take you a whole day to find it since you'd have to see it to use it before. I'll be looking for that tonight or we can all just conclude you pulled numbers from the heavens to prove your point, then accused me of misrepresenting facts. Isn't that the oldest political scheme in the book? Defame your opponent while hiding all your lies in a closet. Too bad I'm not dumb enough for them and I bring them out.

July 2, 2008 at 5:51 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

And for being a decent human being, you don't even know me Dave, so how can you conclude on that? I technically give more to the homeless and poverty stricken in my donations than you do in tax dollars. I again, pay more for them with my tax dollars compared to you. So I technically do more for them than you giving-wise. I guarantee you I also donate more of a % of my gross income than you.

Lets see, I also spend every New Years, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas at shelters serving food to homeless. I volunteer at NYC's Rescue Mission twice a month. I don't do anything for people? Get a life Dave, you know nothing about what I do.

I also house ABC children every year at my house so that they can obtain a better education. I've seen those children go to Penn, Harvard, Cornell, Stanford, USC, etc. I've also helped all of them so they come out with no debt from college.

I do SO much more for the poverty stricken than you do it's almost sickening you said what you did.

How about you call me up and I'll set you up with ABC kids this fall so you can have one move in with you. You can give an inner-city kid a chance at living the American dream.

What do you do for them Dave other than tell people like me I should pay more online in a blog? That's really helpful and solves millions of problems douche.

I also work with others doing an organization where we fulfill unfortunate families Christmas/Chanukah wishes. I'm sure you've put filled hundreds of Christmas trees with presents for families who were robbed, or have a sick family member out of the kindness of your heart. I'm sure you also volunteer at these groups so the gifts can be delivered on time and such. You don't need money to be involved.

And no Dave, I post 2 or 3 times in a row because your write so much, it would be idiotic to read it all and respond in one response. If you were smart, you'd see I respond paragraph by paragraph of what you write. That's actually the smart way to respond.

You keep avoiding the question of whether we are on for the challenge or not. My guess is you left your balls at your parents house and you won't come out and show us all how wonderfully smart you are. Join the Triple 9 Society with me then get back to me.

Maybe you missed it Dave, but the whole point of interacting with people is the hands on experience. Having a poor person receive my money in a welfare check does nothing to boost their moral to go out and get a job. Hearing my life story, and seeing I was in the spot they were in, and then seeing a BMW as my car; the people respond. I'd rather give less in taxes and spend MORE time with the people.

What guarantee do I have my extra tax dollars actually see these people benefit? I have NONE. NY and Cali are in a huge deficit because of all the corruption in their state-wide healthcare plans. I'm sure there's tons of rich families money getting stolen from the top by people and the poor, who need it, are seeing pennies on the dollar.

I'm sorry, but I actually think going to Chester and Philly and NYC and helping these people in person is a good thing. I'd rather do that then just sign checks over.

Do you want an ABC kid Dave? Want to see how serious I am about doing what I say I do. Give me your number and I'll have ABC in contact with you first thing next week.

Or better yet, why don't you go down to Chester and help out with the William Trippley foundation with youth playing soccer or spend your Labor Day in NYC with me at a homeless shelter. You can even give out bags of clothes I've purchased and take claim for doing all the good.

Or are you just a dog with a loud bark online and no balls in real life? You keep telling me I'm a horrible human being, yet you can't partake in any community service I participate in? Why not? Can't a Dem and Repub stand side by side at a homeless shelter and feed people food? Or can't you work with me in helping the community because I have different ideals than you?

I just find it pretty ridiculous you have the audacity to say I don't care about the poor. Yeah it upsets me. So what? You posting slanderous remarks about me. Who wouldn't take offense to that? I spend TONS of time helping the community out. And you know what, I've NEVER seen your name anywhere. And for you to call me out as a bad person without knowing the facts shows how shallow of a person you truly are.

Why don't you go down to the Chester basketball courts and drop off 10 new basketballs for the kids to use? It costs very little and goes a far way. I'll even drive your pansy ass down there. I'll pick you up at 3pm this Friday... you name the place.

No, he’s either not as smart as he claims or he’s not bright enough to see the failure that is his beloved ideology Libism he’s trying to sell. Either way, Dishonest Dave fails to impress …here anyway. I hope he’s better at his job than he is at this.

I musta missed this earlier…

R, please attempt to enlighten us regarding evolution. If you are going to claim that you believe in evolution as defined by "Intelligent Design", I'll take my point and save you the trouble.

Always trying to pigeonhole people, eh, Dishonest Dave? And you’re lying again. You well know I’m not a religious type.

Point.

You’ve got no room to bash the ID folks, DD. Besides, that’s not very Lib “sensitive” or Lib “tolerant” of you, now is it?

Set.

You Libs got your pink panties all bunched a couple years ago when that school district in Kansas wanted to insert ONE SENTENCE into a text book along side the Evolution teachings. The God folks there were not trying to “replace” E with ID –or “hijack science class!”- as filthy godless Lying Libs so shrilly claimed. The good people just wanted the kids to consider other theories, is all. And considering that Evolution is technically just a theory also, this was a very reasonable request. And what harm could have possibly come from kids considering something that much of the world has believed for thousands of years, really? That is, other than some might continue to believe in God and the filthy God-hating Libs do all they can to prevent that. We’ve seen their efforts to replace God with things like Gay in schools. They should leave the kids alone and stop preying on them with their Libism.

As with everything else, hate filled Libs have pushed too far. It’s not enough for them to get their way but they need to completely crush their opponents. And they never fail to lie and slander in order to do so. Much as they have tried to only permit one side of the ongoing Global Warming debate from being heard by stifling naysayers. Or how Libs have attempted to put straights on the defensive as they promote Homoism as the new normal. Or how they have taken our society from racism of the distant past to full blown, blatant reverse racism of today and they enforce compliance by swinging the “racist!” label at all who dare take notice. Here, we’ve gone from getting arrested for teaching Evolution to getting arrested for teaching Creation –if the filthy Libs had their way.

And that, my dishonest friend, is match for me. No trouble at all. ;)

Lol! I knew I could get you to trot out all your worn Lib hate, ya hater!
See, really you’re just a God-hating Lib …and then you set about trying to justify it. And you don’t do a very good job at concealing this.

One sentence, DD. We’re talking about ONE SENTENCE in a text book. Try to stay calm. Lol…

Umm, yes, Evolution is a theory. Yep. So too is Creationism.

Libs have been abusing their holdings in Education to prey upon kids and brainwash them with their one-sided Libism. This is fact. And it’s gonna stop. More and more we have heard the calls to balance all that abusive Lib ideology idiocy in Higher Education and this call for “change” (hehe) is trickling down, like the urine down your quivering leg when Mr. S challenged you to a boxing match.

And, yes, white racism in our society has long been on the wane. While blatant black racism is much more widespread problem TODAY, thanks to bitter blacks clinging to the past and apologist like you fanning racial discord and enabling them and their racism.

Maybe no one ever told you but all that civil rights stuff back in the 60’s was not supposed to be corrupted into the fullblown black reverse racism as it has become today. MLK would be sick. Racism is bad no matter in what color it comes. Black racism is just as wrong as the white variety. Yes, it is. And it is more prevalent today. Much.

Okay Dave,

Lets get one thing straight. The Triple 9 Society is for people who scored in the 99.9% percentile on certain IQ exams. Your 140 is nothing.

Also, I never said we could drill our way out of our problems. I think even Steve would have to agree here that all I've stated is it's worth drilling now because there's no guarantee we have a hydrogen car in 2015. So what's the harm if we explore and before we use it, we have hydrogen cars? Oil companies spent their OWN money on the exploration. Ding Dang, that's probably your issue with it; the government didn't waste any of its money!

Then again you keep reaping on the poor, now how are they going to pay off their existing car loans and buy a new hydrogen car? Oh wait, that's right, you'll see a gradual change-over which will take 5-10 years. So even if we see gas prices stabilize at $6 a gallon in 4 years; what is wrong with that? It's better than $10 a gallon prices in 6-7 years.

The whole point is no study can tell us when we'll have alternative vehicles. If those studies existed, we'd know when the cure for AIDs and cancer was coming. You can speculate all you want Dave. I'm sure you were speculating on an AIDs cure 10 years ago. Still hasn't come now has it?

And wow Dave, we can prove Earth's temperatures have risen a few (is it even more than 1 or 2) degrees Celsius in the past 100 years. What was the hottest year on Earth in that time frame again? Oh right, before 1950 (of course the flaws in the original argument had to be pointed out for this to be known). Then we can go into the McCann study. How many flaws do you want to see on that Dave? I've seen that type of chart used hundreds of times, and yes, the hockey stick is true. I know two highly regarded scientists at the top universities who fully agree the use of that type of chart was done to fool the unintelligent on the issue.

Now these are just two major "flaws" in the global warming argument. We could also get into how the same data sets came up multiple times in studies for different year periods. How exactly are two years following the same temperature/weather conditions? Not only two now, but up to fifteen years. That's a bunch of bs too. Now Dave, with all these "facts" and how it's been "proven" why do people trying to say it's "proven" resort to distorting facts?

The 3 cases I've written about are very well documented. We could go into Gore's exaggeration of rising water levels. Why would you need to exaggerate if you are correct? You wouldn't.

Then again, you can't differentiate between what caused the ice age and what is happening today. You can't put a hand on humans causing it. To do that, you resort to CO2 levels. I'll take you to Stanford and let you watch the CO2 study be done. I'm sure you'll say there's something that's wrong with the study. But the facts are, when you at CO2 to an air population, the temperature doesn't rise. Now that's the whole basis of your argument, so it should happen 100% of the time. The one thing that absolutely happens is when you raise the temperature, the CO2 levels raise. Which goes along with your point, but that takes the whole "human element" of increased CO2 levels out. Which means the increased CO2 levels are caused by warmer temperatures. You'd now have to prove how we raised the temperatures to prove humans had anything to do with global warming. You can't.

Just because you read a study that Joe Biden or Al Gore agrees with and agree with it also, does not mean the studies proving it wrong are wrong just because you say so. Haven't you noticed most of the people who believe in global warming are Dems and the majority of them are the poor and uneducated? So where's the correlation between knowledge and global warming you bring up? There isn't any!

I don't really get your tobacco comments. I'm not really sure which party fights them harder, I'm assuming the Dems because they would fall under "big biz." Again, if you take out tobacco companies, you lose all those "tax dollars." I can now quote your quote and say that you are in essence taking money from the poor and hungry by shutting them down. If we shut down tobacco companies, where do we receive all this tax money? That's right the rich. I hope someone in the Dem party knows the rich's income isn't infinity. At some point, you can't tax them at a 95% rate. You'll have to raise taxes on the middle/lower class or do away with programs to keep any sort of a budget.

Who ever said I was for the war in Iraq? All I've ever stated is I believe Bush used the intelligence given to him at that point to make his decision. Was it the best decision, absolutely not. Many people agreed with him (even Obama when he ran for Senate). The study just came out saying Bush used the intelligence to back up all his statements except Al Qaeda in Iraq. I think I'll defer the blame to all of America on Iraq as there are hundreds of quotes by Clinton and Gore in the 90s stating how Hussein was a terroristic threat and the biggest fear for America. The man had a huge bark with little bite. We unfortunately found that out. It's not the first nor last mistake this country will make.

Dave, I also agree with how to get people back on their feet. I may go a bit further in saying kick all the illegals out, and put them to work doing their jobs at a decent wage. I also feel our insane asylums (not the nicest term but I'm blanking here) should be re-opened as many of the homeless can't hold a job because of mental issues. They need to be cared for, and I'm willing to pay those tax dollars for that.

My experience has just been that the government isn't good at training in anything other than the armed forces (of which they are top notch). I'd rather see actual workers training these people on the job and not in a make-shift thrift store. I think more CEOs should be re-doing fields/courts for the youth of America (rich and poor).

My whole problem with the tax issue is it always comes down to: we need money, okay, tax the rich. At some point, that rich base won't be here to tax and the country will have nowhere to turn. We're the only country in the world that taxes the rich if they move out of the country for any reason. We are the only country in the world who tax citizens who work outside of the country. We have the highest corporate tax rates in the world. At some point, there is something wrong with what are tax dollars are giving us since other countries tax less and give more back to the people (and this is true pre-Iraq war). That in itself puts the finger right at corruption in our government. Why is one of the largest airports in our country (also funded by the gov't) located a few miles from Walmart's main inventory location. And like 95% of the flights from that airport are used by Walmart. That's abused government money by Governor Bill Clinton.

dave,

I swear we're not anti-semite! we attempted to embrace relations in the 80's with McReuben Special sandwiches but sadly they didn't catch on! Also, with the French Fry tax, we could initiate one, but people may complain that the richer residents may pay more, and what about our middle class citizens munching on "super size"?

Jonas, I'm right on board, and I think you're convincing me to take an IQ test of my own so I can broadcast the results for better or worse. We've both mentioned that drilling is not a permanent solution; I believe we both feel that there will be better technology available, however, it takes time to develop, and seeing that we have nothing more than the Prius mass-produced, we're going to continue to wait. How long? I wish I could say a year or two, but that's impossible. 5 years is a stretch. I believe the 15 you mentioned may be more accurate. In the meantime, we need to protect our nation's well being and our economic security.

Let's all face it, transportation in our nation acts as the arteries of our beating economy, we're seeing how it is affecting us drastically and how we're scrounging to make ends meet as a result. Drilling is our best option for security. If it takes 5 years, let it do so. Why? We could have done the same 10 years ago and we didn't. If we don't have that technology in place we may as well sell ourselves to China and India.

There's three important prongs to this situation (the table I mentioned a couple weeks back): Environment, Economic Stability and Energy Independence. For the table to balance effectively, we need to distribute the load evenly on these three. That's why I fully believe in drilling immediately: short term old technology to bridge us to long term solutions.

Dave, you made jonas repeat himself about inviting new technology. If someone believes in something and has no hesitation in stating it here, I believe they're owed that respect.

Thank you Steve. I'm glad some of us can comprehend written words.

Now Dave, I have 4 remaining Qs for you:

1. When is our challenge taking place?

2. What community service do you partake in?

3. Where should I pick you up at 3pm tomorrow so you can help me donate goods to families in Chester?

4. What is the best way for ABC to contact you so that you can house a child in the coming year?

Oh and Dave, instead of giving some long response. Could you just list out points 1 through 4 and answer each one separately for everyone to see? Thanks bud!

It's greatly appreciated!

While voting values over pocketbook have we asked whether Obama supports a draft? If his pull out destabilizes the Middle East, will he support a draft? Will it be fashioned as 2 year required service for all high school graduates? Who will recieve deferrals? College students? Professional students? Teachers? Women? If his pull out results in destabilization, what is his plan to stabilize? Has he been asked to estimate the cost for a gallon of gas if the Middle East destabilizes.

Jeeze Dave, when did the "middle east" only encompass Iraq with this statement, "The Cato Institute, a libertarian think-tank, did a study on the subject. What they found is simply mind-boggling. They calculated that the US spent between $30 to $60 billion (with a 'b') a year safeguarding oil supplies in the Middle East during the 1990s, even though its imports from that region totaled only about $10 billion a year during that period"

Other countries in the middle east have sweet crude that our refineries use; just not Iraq. Why do you think that 10B of imports is very little compared to that of northern africa and the like? Because we get most of our oil from countries like Nigeria.

And Dave please, this comes from the Huffington Post aka Huff on Big Bill's cock n balls. You seemed to have missed the multiple references to ethanol subsidies, but you are all about ethanol vehicles. Hmmmm, seems contradictory.

And jeeze, oil is subsidized? Really? Who didn't know that? What industry isn't subsidized? How's Obama going to start his "green" industries? By taking the oil companies 15 trillion over 10 years? Isn't that a subsidy?

To argue an industry is bad because it is subsidized is insane and you know it. Also, your article states that if there was no subsidy, we'd have more cash, but gas would cost more. The only difference is the higher the price of gas, the better a $20 a gallon tank of hydrogen looks when it gets you the same distance.

That's the whole key Dave, you and I both know it. The Dems want to drive gas prices as high as humanly possible so they can keep blaming oil companies, BUT (here's the kicker) it makes all their alternative fuels (which they've all bought futures on - please see Gore's million + investments prior to his movie) resemble something of an alternative. Nobody is going to pay 4 times the price of gas to have a hydrogen car, but at another dollar or two, many would consider it. They are basically forcing the move to alternative fuels while lining their pockets with their money invested in those futures.

"Change" at it's best I must say.

Please, please. I don't have time to "run" these programs. Instead I participate in them as much as I can. What is wrong with that? Is there much of a difference in housing a kid versus running the organization?

What organization did I say I ran? I threw out the William Trippley group as I am heavily involved in youth soccer. The people who run that program are very highly qualified to run the program and I have the utmost respect for each and every one of them. What am I going to do for a group like that? Someone like you, who doesn't already teach children sports on the weekends, could use their time and help those children out. I have enough time taken up coaching. I threw it out there as it is a great group doing a great cause in the area that doesn't get much publicity.

Then we go to ABC. Have you checked their website? The only people listed are people who work their FT. I'd have trouble working 90 hours in my current job and taking on another 40 with my weekends full with activities. I need some sort of rest. I can't carry the weight of both of us. If you saw, ding ding ding!, McK is one of the main partners. Maybe that's where I got involved? Nowhere on their website is there a listing of people who help with ABC. It is all their main employees and corporate/foundation sponsors. As I do this by myself, I don't involve my company. Is that so hard to understand?

Then again, I need an audience? Ummm, dropping off basketballs at local courts for children and walking away isn't getting me any followers. Who will ever see me again? I don't have stickies with my name on the balls. How else would you propose getting equipment to children that don't play in an organized league? There's not a phone tree of "parents whose kids play bball in Philly" to contact. The way to get those kids the equipment is to drop it off to them. And no, leaving the equipment there at 4am while no one around won't do anything because the equipment won't be used by those who it is intended for.

Isn't it amazing how you call me a horrible person with no soul? Then when I tell you what I do for the community to prove how false that argument is, I now do it for the "fame" and "glory." If I don't do anything, I lose. If I do something, I lose. You will knock me for whatever I do. Good thing I don't do these things upon your approval, because I wouldn't get to do anything.

I could use your excuse that there's just "not enough time to go around."

You my friend, are the lost soul without a cause.

Now that I've won the bet, where should we meet for R and I to videotape you taking it while bent over from my friend? A man is only as good as his word.

And also, you can't call me "Jonas" anymore. The name is, "your honor." That was somewhere in rule 1 through 3 which was agreed to in the bet.
