Newtown Square Dance

Here's an update from Kenn Stark on the rift between BPG and Newtown Square officials concerning the Town Center proposal.

I went to the meeting last night and it will be the subject my print column tomorrow.

This much is clear: a game of chicken is being played and the trash talking is heating up.

More tomorrow.

Hey Gil, in your piece be sure to draw the clear comparison between Commissioner Linda Houldin and what happened to Fred Moran for doing the very same thing. It sure seems like this developer refused to pay her stated extortion demands and now the project has been nit-picked to death and derailed as a result. This case may even be worse if the rumors of paid political favor by the developer’s competition have any merit.

And just when the public needs a bright light shined on this deal they close the public meetings.
It is time to rein in smug and unscrupulous town planners made mad with power.

Someone help me understand. One developer (you know, Houldins friend) is cleary and openly given a free pass on every item he asks for and has sailed through developement process with no issues and no large expence to himself. I have no clue what his plans are and how they will affect the face of my town, he has no need to present them to the public, he gets approval to quickly. On the other hand, BPG present a product that the township residents overwhelmingly (wasn't it 9 out of 10) desire and the supervisors are literally dismantling the possibility of it coming to be. Houldin says she has the best interests of the residents in mind. Please the only thing more frustrating than the blatant corruption and favoritism of the supervisors is the fact that no one who could hold them to task will do it. Newtown residents need to wake up and give the same scrutiny to the supervisors as they are giving to BPG.

Hey r & jj. Newtown Square Supervisors have passed BPG's By right plan unanimously.
BPG commented that they would start breaking ground immediately on the By Right Plan.

Residents are still waiting for BPG to Break Ground on their 13 acres of REtail space(FOrmer Videon Dealership).
And to build some offices on the remainder of the 190+acres(zoned su-1).
Why would any Newtown Resident be willing to hand out an unfettered ZONING CHANGE ON 190+ACRES FROM OFFICE BUILDINGS TO RESTAURANTS.

This BPG developer is obviously looking to at the very least make over a 400 million dollar profit with a "Town Center" approval.

Good Luck to my Newtown Neighbors. I live in Willistown. We wouldn't put up with a loud mouth bunch of character's like those Bpg fellows.
