Bad News in Newtown Square

A colleague reports that the Town Center project in Newtown Square has jumped the tracks and is barreling toward a cement wall.

A meeting, planned to roll out the details of months of negotiations has been cancelled by township offiicals for no good or legitmate reason. Fed up, BPG officials, say they're re-activating their alternative "by-right" plan that would land a big-box store and strip mall in the center of Newtown.

I understand there is a township supervisors meeting tonight. Could be very interesting. I think I'll stop by.

Small town planners have gone crazy with their little bit of power. And they've been catering too much to the anti-progress NIMBYs.

They’re seeing the very same thing out in Middletown with the proposed Franklin Town Center project getting derailed and instead having a stupid office park by-right plan installed.

Did anyone read Debotton's comments in the article passed around today via SOS in the News of Delaware County? "I have many friends in Newtown". He has friends, politicans, obviously on the payroll...

After tonights pathetic twp meeting I'm convinced this Twp is a mess. Come on people wake up, it's so obvious Linda wants nothing to do with the town center she actually had the nerve to ask them to cut the retail in half.
Linda what have you asked Claude to do? Besides cut you a check....

If you need another exapmle of the quality future planning of the township, look into their "free" EMS service. The same one that has proven to offer less than quality service to the residents and is now going to cost taxpayers money while they create a quick response unit, buy the vehicle and equipment and hire another employee to oversee their "free" service. Not like any experts told them it wouldn't work.
