Thankful for the Surge

Things continue to improve in Iraq.

Are the Democrats and the Angry Left thankful for that? Don't bet on it.

UPDATE: And al Qaeda in Iraq is on the run too.

UPDATE II: Hillary Clinton gets in on the action.

President Bush’s troop surge has been an unquestionable success. So how come no one on the Left is acknowledging this? You’d think that after all the shrill noise they made about it when it started that they’d at least say something positive now. But then that would mean Bush isn’t an incompetent idiot.
See, it’s not really about the war at all. The Hurt Feelings crowd is just playing games at the expense of America during wartime. These are the same folks who when asked if they want the U.S. the win in Iraq they say No. Traitors.

I'd have to agree. These are the same people who push aside Hillary's illegal campaign funding programs. Wasn't this the same party who wanted "equal" air-time on the radio? Guess they wanted over half of the news media so that they could push only their agenda on the American people.

I think that, after "Mission Accomplished," lots of us are a little wary of accepting rosy reports.

David -
See the newest update. Not all Democrats can afford NOT to recognize success. Even the New York Times grudgingly seems to.

And just what is Success?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Success may mean:

A level of social status
Achievement of an objective/goal
The opposite of failure

I don't see anything in there that suggests why we are in Iraq in the first place. Don't any of you remember Vietnam? Was that so called war a success? Or how about those nasty Russians in Afghanistan - Was their "war" a success? People do not learn from their blunders.

Lol… Love how the Bitter Left always resorts to hair splitting word games.

“That would depend on one’s definition of ‘progress’.”

“That would depend on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is.”

Just admit that Bush’s surge was a success. Everyone know this to be true.

Randal:

Those of us who know what is right also know that liberals will give President Bush credit for nothing. Even sadder is the fact that the liberals will hurl their complaints and criticize our President, and then decline to discuss their beliefs further. I have a sister tht thinks like that. She is a Hillary supporter, is all for women's rights (ERA), yet she lives in Saudi Arabia with her husband and kids so that she can teach on an Aramco compound. She now doesn't even speak to me as I asked her how she can support rights for woman, yet accept a paycheck from the Saudi's. Oh well, liberalism is a mental disorder.

Yes, Liberalism is indeed a form of mental illness. And it is filled with contradiction and hypocrisy. That’s the surest sign that it is a poorly thought out idiotology based on childish emotions.

The thing about the Troop Surge is that it was a great big non-issue from the start and the Angry Anti-Bush Left went out of their way to turn it into a controversy. Our troop levels have fluctuated throughout that engagement. As our President and our Military conduct war they need now get public -or congressional- approval for troop movements. Bush was just nice enough to answer when asked what his strategy was and then they pounced on him for it.
This is all the more reason the Slimy Lefties are despicable scumbags for failing to acknowledge they were wrong and Bush was right. Like angry schoolyard children they are.

The President of the United States is not the enemy, terrorists and their traitorous domestic Liberal enablers that attack our president during wartime are.

Wow,

Randal, did liberals beat you up on a playground when you were a kid or something? Even the most conservative leaders don't go that far.

I want you to know that I am not challenging anything you say (partly because I'm afraid you'll have a stroke). But, your opinions may sound more credible if they don't include statements claiming that liberalism is mental illness.

You have strong opinions and are apparently well informed on current events. Clearly, you are smart enough to make your point without such over the top insults.

You're right that Bush is not the enemy. But, there just may be a few 'liberals' fighting for their country right now. They aren't the enemy either, or mentally ill right?

I don't get the point here. Yes, when we put more troops into Iraq, we undeniably had a military victory.

Are we seriously bragging about that?

Iraq hasn't had more than row boats and bb guns for years. We overthrew the country several years ago. So, was anyone uncertain about our ability to continue to kick the crap out of the few guys in towels and flip flops who take pot shots at a humvee?

No one ever denied that we can kill people. The problems are that we never had a good reason to go in in the beginning and all we're doing by kicking the crap out of Muhamed is ensuring that his son is going to follow in dad's footsteps.

There's no accomplishment in beating on people who barely have bullets and guns. Its like the Yankees wanting a parade for beating a high school JV squad.

Thank you, Dave, for once again showing us the depth of the Liberal mind by injecting race where it clearly has no place. Must you do this with every single non-related issue? Maybe you should get that checked.

Sure Libism is like mental illness. Who are Liberals?: Children with their underdeveloped minds and old folks with deteriorating minds. And there is something wrong with anyone else who overly relies on their emotions to guide them even in the face of logic to the contrary. They are sick people. Any therapist worth their salt would tell you this.
There is nothing in this world more pathetic than a Liberal male.
Don’t blame me if you find this insulting. Try not being a Lib.

I see a typo up there in my previous post. That sentence should read “As our President and our Military conduct war they need NOT get public -or congressional- approval for troop movements.”
And I also meant to add: We do not wage war by weepy Liberal concensus.
